A bespoke shirt of a friend of mine.
Showing off some handwork on shirt that has hand...
...attached, finished, set and and sewn...collar, cuffs, buttons, buttonsholes, placket, gussets, monograms, sleeves, shoulders, backseam, side seams, sleeve seams, bottom edges, arriccios.
The machine sewn seams actually visible here are those on the gauntlet and on some parts of the cuffs.
The point is, as always, the quality and neatness of the handwork.
More details of the long seams, edge seams and almost ridiculously minuscule collar and cuff attachement coming soon.
The last picture shows how badly sewn it is. And me on my first cut class day, my job was to sewn on pinstripe fabric to avoid loosing the lane, that is totally gone. That is Chiaia, best crooks of the world. He told me that shirt was 400 euros, jajajajjaa Nice try, game over.
ReplyDeleteThe gauntlet piece is made by a rookie. And has machine made threads on it. Great for the 400e Pawel Scammer redka ask for a 120e shirt. Wonder if he ever scammed other man than me.

Wonderful shirt with fantastic details!! But the place for the initials is worth discussing.
ReplyDeleteManiküre? :)
ReplyDeleteGoing to Naples tomorrow and planning to have some shirts made. Where to go? Is Via Calabritto in Chiaia the right place, or do you find better things in less spoken-about places? Particular shirt makers recommended?
