Some photos of the actual Talarico umbrellas and I pass from showing the imported 15€ models that are imported for customers who suddenly find themselves in a rain shower, but concentrate on the beautiful, traditionally crafted umbrellas the maestro produces together with his nephew Mario Talarico (Junior).
In the third picture we can see him (or rather not, behind the umbrella's canopy) finishing an umbrella with a one-piece cherrywood cane.
All traditonally made umbrellas have points from natural horn and a closing strap with mother of pearl buttons and a closing ring that is handsewn with a thread matching the canopy, like a handsewn button hole on a coat!
The umbrellas can be constructed from single piece canes, what would be the typical Talarico umbrella or of course with separate handles/sticks due to aesthetic reasons (handles entirely handmade from pure horn e.g.), or because the demanded wood does not grow long enough to produce a single piece umbrella (bamboo e.g.).
